Smashbox Arena – Review

Smashbox Arena is a 3v3 arena based first person shooter. Using dual PS Move Controllers you teleport around the stage, picking up weapons to blast your opponents.

The arenas are littered with glowing energy balls you can pick up to shoot at the opposing team. There are also a number of special weapons such as homing missiles, grenades and sniper rifles.

The game is playable offline via a story mode with 3 levels of difficulty or you can team up with players from across the globe to take on the world's fellow Smashboxers.

Gameplay is fun and frantic. An easy to follow tutorial means the game is simple to get into, but a little practise will quickly have you zipping round the levels, catching the other side off guard for a cheeky hit. You'll soon be deflecting enemy attacks and even stealing their projectiles for a revengeful kill.

And while the game is perfectly good fun on your own, playing with friends and using tactics and strategy to dominate the arena will elevate the experience further still.

I played on a PS4 Pro where the graphics are big, bold and crystal clear I found both controller and headset tracking to be exceptional throughout the time I spent playing.

Overall, this game is a ton of fun. Easy to pick up play and immensely satisfying as your skills and reflexes improve allowing you to hold your own on the battlefield. If you're looking for a shooter where you can hone your skills and return to again and again, Smashbox Arena is definitely worth a look.
